Weekend 5 (Sunday, October 23, 2011)

1. Began my week out with my ONLY interview of the week and it COUNTED good! I had my interview on Monday with Carter's the kids clothing store related to Oshkosh. They said if we (group interview) all passed the background checks they would call in 2 to 3 days so I figured by Fri if I hadnt heard back then it wouldnt happen. Imagine my shock on Thur evening when the manager at Carter's called me and said I was hired. Yes FINALLY. And checking my journal I found out that it was a yr and a day since the last time I really had a job when I got hired at B&B last year! Kudos. Orientation is on Tue 3-5.
2. Twice this week we did LONG bike rides to the beach. Total time riding is about 45 mint each way. 12 miles total about. So yeah. I LOVE it. The thing I dont love is the pain after my tail bone especially and my hands. My legs are getting muscles in them which is cool I love it. I really want to get in shape even if we cant do the bike thing this year because its coming up before I get paid. I would love to be in greater shape for it next year :)

3. I am sick of WellsFargo crap. First they charged me $3 in my savings account and when I called Monday the girl claimed they would reverse it. Imagine my shock when I called back Thur they said they cant reverse it. The guy was giving me the biggest line of bs I have ever heard. He tried to claim that it was because there was more than 30 days before my last time I did the month charge. Or was it because it was after the 20th. Which is stupid because i got charged before the 20th therefore its cause of Sept NOT Oct. Well I know the whole more than 30 days is bs because I looked at my account found FOUR times where I did more than 30 days between including one more recent. I did one on July 1st and then not again till August 30th. How is that different from Sept 1st to Oct 31st? Yeah its NOT dum a. So when I get a chance I will drop them I hate dealing with this and wish i could just drop them now UGH UGH

4. We arent moving yet. Yup. We will find out this week the date for moving and we are hoping and praying it will be before the 1st of Nov. But at the rate we are going yeah no fun...

5. As NaNoWriMo is almost upon us I took the time today in church to finally figure out my idea. I have two book ideas I have never gotten far with and plan to one day. i didnt want to use them I wanted a fresh idea. So it came to me. I just filled out my form on the site. I will just say its a YA Adult fantasy, and the title is "The Secret Door". Should be an interesting month doing this while moving & working a new job. Yes sir.

Till next time...

Weekend 5 (Sunday, October 16, 2011)

Okay...

1. After my whole kiosk thing I put off calling them until Tue was sure I had the job. Setting up the kiosk was fun. I got paid and I liked the people I worked with. Well they didnt like me so I found out Tue that I didnt get the job. I had an interview same day with Target. They now do them online, then you do their app in store which is half math. Then you get 2 interviews. On Fri they wrote to tell me I lost that job too. Not a great week for LOSING jobs!! Ugh

2. I had lots of fun with interviews though. My most active days were Wed when I had 3 and Thur when I had 2. I cant say I want one job over another but the Sketchers one where you get a free pair of shoes and more than likely its more than just holiday sounds good. Claire's I'd love but worry about buying stuff with discounts cause I love it there :) (unless its like B&B of last yr where I didnt work enough to use my discount and sadly had to be let go end of season having bought NOT one thing!). I wouldnt mind Torrid but worried I'm a bit not fashion enough. Candy store good job sure. Justice I love Justice but cant seem to reach that job each time I lose it. Shall see when I find out in the next week or two on jobs.

3. Only ONE bike ride last week very disappointing! We did have a heat spell for 2 days all while the job junk going on. But the reason for less bike riding was not home enough and too tired once home. Not fun at all. But the one bike ride was good as always :)

4. We did have good news on Tue. Very quickly things are moving my parents got the house. Their second house as they lost the last one. Very exciting news. We hope to move in by end of month. So next few weeks could be crazy. But I'm not worried. There will be a room for Mel and me to share. The last house it was going to be sleep in living room or sleep in garage no room. So I'm not complaining even if its one room for us both, two baths not used to that. But its still more than we would have had if we'd gotten the other house. So there you go. Good news there!

5. We did our first race out here finally on Saturday. It was the Del Mar Mud Run. We went there 6:30am-2pm. Our shift was done at 1 but we stayed for the free food and samples. It all good. Had a lot of fun. We didnt get put in the mud no we volunteered for registration and so we were free from getting mud. Although it looks so much fun I would LOVE to do this next year maybe get a group together. This is the 2nd yr of this mud run. We heard about it last yr while in AZ and SO wanted to do it. We couldnt even find one like it in AZ. So yeah fun race glad we did it even if I was dead tired :)

till next time...

Weekend 5 (Sunday, October 9th 2011)

Okay then busy week...
1. Last week was a lot of job stuff. There was a job fair for Godiva that was held on Wed. I let Mel try this as she has not done as many as me. She also without me tried the Stater Bros one on Fri. As for me well I did a lot of job stuff myself including applying on Monday with the rest of my apps to our mall. And a new cafe called "The Broken Yolk" opening a new location in a few weeks by us.

2. We got to  experience our first real rain. It kind of rained on Tue but the worst was on Wed while walking around the Carlsbad Outlet mall. It was cold, windy, and raining pretty steady. We got pretty soaked. The hot chocolate was nice (thanks sis!) and I did apply to a lot of places. Waiting to hear back after all my hard work. STANDING for every application. Was glad for warm at home. Later we got to go and try to see the "Red Tides" but not much success by the beach. Once every 5 yrs. Odd how the first chance we had was when we first moved here 5 yrs ago. 5 yrs sure changes a lot... we might try again was fun on the beach at 10 at night :)

3. The North County mall is Escondido and let me say it is HUGE. Now Scottsdale sure has a huge mall. So is this! Its THREE stories yes three. It even has a Panera Bread, Red Robbin and a Bowling Alley INSIDE the mall. By far super cool. I'm so hopeful for the job at the calendar kiosk which I applied & talked to the mgr. She let me on Sun night help set up the game kiosk and still waiting to hear back if I'm hired or not...

4. Had another beach day this was more real the others. I need to stop collecting so many sea shells :p but othewise. Got mostly wet, walked around the beach by the harbor. Was a ton of fun. I love the beach I am so glad to be by it again :)

5. Still going faithfully second week in a row to Calvary Chapel Oceanside. This church has more good then bad memories. I kind of wish my sis would come with me so we could sit in the cafe. If only we could also get starbucks every sunday it was our tradition. We always came late, and ate our coffee cake and drank our coffee. Best times. But love the church always fun good people nice church all around

6. I had two experiences with B&N last week. First I applied at the same store I worked for 4 yrs ago when we lived out here. Since it wasnt all a good experience it made me nervous. They said they will be going over the apps this week so shall see. Then Thur I went to the one in Encinitas for a job fair. We got late trying. Then I didnt get the call back like I wanted. Why is this company that I worked for TWICE (admit only once) so dang hard to get back into? Its not like I dont have experience. UGH.

till next time...

Weekend 5 (Sunday, Oct 2, 2011)

Back on track this wk...make it the weekend 6 this time :)

1. Days here are somewhat without order. I wake up, I go online, I watch tv. Then we go out, and then come home more tv, online and then bed. Inbetween I even read and apply for jobs. But life is so crazy. So on Tue I filled out apps for Target (need to check back on) and on Wed I filled out for Walmart. Was kinda shocked but happy for a call back that night. My interview set for Thur and it went okay. Except the questions went in circles, I was tired my ADD was a nervous reck and ended with me not knowing how it will turn out. Plus the girl told me end of week for decision which was like Friday. So I'm guessing she meant this week. Who knows maybe another Walmart will give me a chance. I need a job I dont care where. This was my FIRST Walmart interview so give me a break! :/

2. We have managed 3 bike rides last week. The longest one was nearly an hour. The shortest was a half hour. Each one fun as the last. Slowly we are creeping to where we were in 2007. I recall we have still yet to pass where we had been. It could take us a few hours if we did it at once but its still the goal by end of year. I LOVE bike riding. If I could do it daily I would. Its freeing, its painful but you dont feel the pain till you stop and I am 110% sure its good for you. Love biking :)

3. Spent the best time at the beach on Saturday. First feet in the water, picking up seashell I never tire of this I have a small amount now since we got here. Then we drove (with mom and sister Misty too but not dad) to this gazebo area and watched the sunset. Found the "oceanside" sign like the hollywood one. I really had a blast on Sat night. Love the beach!!

4. Managed to finally begin to apply for jobs IN PERSON. Before this it was online apps or sending resumes over careerbuilder & craigslist. We visited our mall the nearest one. I sadly was only able to drop off 3 apps but will be doing the rest tomorrow. Hurray for finally doing this! There arent AS many malls out here but there are a few I just need to expand beyond my borders which I didnt want to do in 2007...

5.  Today I went back to Calvary Chapel Oceanside Church. It was a lot of fun. My sis did another day at the other church. But I went with the parents. This was our church for a year and I intend to make it that again unless I find something better. I like the pastor, I like the music. I like it a lot. I gave my sister two reasons I like this better then the other church: I like drums in worship not just guitars and they have it & Pastor Mike has a sense of humor. Plus the service is just over an hour which is just right for my attention spand. Its NO Cornerstone or New Vision Baptist but its not bad for now at least till I find something better...

6. Grandmas birthday was on the 29th. In 2009 we started this tradition Mel and me and my mom. Me and Mel would buy a balloon release it to the sky for her birthday. Mom did the same. We were in TN at the time she here in CA. Then in 2010 we did the same thing but in AZ. It was so hot we nearly thought the balloon would pop so we had to let it go where we got it at the dollar tree. This year we are together so mom bought a nicer cost more balloon, we drove to the beach by the harbor and my dad video us three (with FIVE strings on the balloon) run it to the ocean and let it go. But as always according to mom it does this it goes towards the casino so grandma. She did love to go and gamble. I miss her so much right now. 5 yrs and its nothing I miss her like it happened yesterday. Miss you Grandma Swank enjoy your balloon

till next week
