Been a long week...
1. Monday I had an interview at the Lovesac in Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. I hadnt been to that mall probably since earlier this year. It seems changed or just huge or something else. It felt weird going there without my sis I might add. I first did my internship for 3 hours then took the LR to the bus to get there. I was there about 2hrs. I filled out 2 job apps (waiting to hear back on those sigh) at places hiring. My interview wasnt bad I was excited for the chance to come work there. Then again it was a "selling" job which was iffy since my bad experience in June (3 day crap job). But I was to hear back on Wed either way. Guess what! I didnt hear back either way. So I was like its not to be que sera sera.
2. On Wednesday just as I was about to ride the LR to a small bus and take that downtown in Tempe to a pizza place I got a call for an interview with amazon.com. How great is that! I will be going in next week on Friday the 29th at 1pm. Sadly its very far away with buses will take me over 3hrs. My sister has agreed to come get me after its about 40mint from our house there and then 40mint back but buses would be another 3hrs. I better bring a book with me! Also need my usual id card, ssn card, and oddly enough (never had this asked before) a copy of my transcript from high school. Felt silly calling my old school CCHS to get that since I graduated 13yrs ago. Paid $2 for it (thanks mom!) sheash. I havent checked the mail I hope its there or will be soon...
3. I went to a job fair on Thursday. I worked so hard to get there and so hard to get back I am still hoping and praying something will come of it. I shouldnt have wasted my $1.20 on 11 resumes since I only gave out 2! So I had to ride the bus early to Mesa Library. The library was not easy to get to it was 2 blocks from where I was dropped off and I kept thinking how nice I get to finally see downtown Mesa. I love downtown areas. But I was hot & tired when I got the library. The job fair should have began at 10 but they doors didnt open till nearly 10:20 so by time they did there was a line of 40plus people (me being one of them) waiting to go in. I walked away with about 4 things to do online, gave out resumes only to the two temp places, and I got lots of free pens, a free pedimetore, and a free bag. Then I got to ride the bus to the LR to the internship. It was a long day needless to say. But I hope worth it more then just the free stuff (which is always nice!).
4. I did my internship 4 times last week. I am trying to do it 4x a week since I am running out of time both to learn stuff, get my hours, and just get in period. I am going to miss this if its over on Aug 13th I am going to miss it more than I can say or even think about. Its just a part of my life now, get up go to the internship. I have no job so its my job where my pay is experience.
5. Saturday (yesterday) was extra rain fire from heaven h*ll kind of day. Sis insurances expired two weeks ago but she couldnt afford to renew it. So when she got pulled over yesterday for having an expired and not even point CA plate on front of car (NEVER got pulled over in TN for nor the first year out here!). Then policemen gave her a ticket cause she couldnt find her registration, but she can clear that when she is. But she needed insurance now she has it (thanks to mom) but hoping this will be enough to clear that ticket. Oh wasnt he nice to give her a warning for the crack! I'm just glad she didnt get arrested or her license suspended as those two would have been worse then 2 tickets!
Yeah hope this weeks better...
Every weekend I write down the top 5 things that happened to me from the week it ends on (usually Sundays). Stole/borrowed the idea from author Sarah Dessen. Very fun!

Weekend 5 (Sunday, July 17th 2011)
How about the weekend 6 today? ;)
1. Today marks exactly 3 yrs since I graduated from CSB. Its hard to believe its been that long. Sadly the school wasnt even open another year before it closed for good. I was one of the last people to finish the whole thing. There was the set that fall and then the Spring got to finish eventually. I wish at times they would have kept it open. I loved the school, I loved my classmates. It would have made it 10x more easier for me to get help and such working with the people who I graduated with. But alas that did not happen. I hope my other classmates are working on the dreams they made and worked hard for 3 yrs ago now.
2. The 16th marked a year since we came out here. What a long hard and strange year it has been. 2011 itself was strange and sad all without the fact that we were living in a new place. So I am sad about the fact that I am not in work and all. But I am trying to honestly trust God for this. Twice now I have doubting and God has spoken to me. One to tell me He will provide for me/us, the other was last night saying He has not forgotten us. Heres to another year this time better then last one!
3. My internship this week I only did 3 days. I skipped out on Monday for a day off. And of course Friday after the midnight HP I didnt dare come in. But I had fun all the same. Sad to think I only have a month left and I am trying to make a dent in there to show I belong there for good in August!
4. So Tuesday was a very long day for me. I did my internship sure but first rode the bus down there then light rail so my sis could sleep in. After my 3hrs I rode the bus and LR to our mall to apply for jobs. I was there a few hours. Then the bus back home. I was out of the house 12hrs and so tired by time of coming home I wanted to die! Hope it gets me some interviews (still waiting...)
5. The midnight showing for the last Harry Potter film was on Thur. I am very sad this is it for the books/movies. I had just finished the book. I know we can go back and replay our wii lego game, reread the books, watch the movies (I dont own sadly the part 1 yet), and maybe see the movie again when/if it comes to cheap seats. But it was SO SO good. Sad, but good. So long Harry Potter...
6. My best friend Deb came down on Friday to see me and hang out. I hadnt seen her since Nov 2007 on our trip to TN from CA we stopped in Vegas. Since then she has gotten married and I have not. But we still had fun. With Mel too we saw "Mr Poppers Penguins" very funny film. Then we roller skated for 4hrs which was a blast. Followed up by going to dinner with her husband now too at Cracker Barrel. I hope to see her again sooner then 4hrs it was a lot of fun...
till next week...

Weekend 5 (Sunday, July 10 2011)
Okay
1. The 4th of July was a lot of fun last week! Well sorta. First I decided to skip out on my internship (heard later I missed the BQ dang!) and go with my sis to her mall. They only open til 6. I got a coffee at Quick Trip (so good). Then proceeded to go online all day. After she off we sat in Carl's Jr goofing till fireworks and then it was so crowded we ended up parking far from the lake and watching with some people. A storm almost we thought drenched us (later it didnt really rain for us so maybe not) and we had lightning behind us while fireworks in front. I hope next year to do it BY the lake it would have been great! Oh well (it wasnt a free event mind you)
2. I had 2 job things last week. Well 3 in a way. Tuesday I was to go to an interview that was way farther away then the one job I had last month. We gave up as I was late and never made it. I did schedule an interview for that day very short timing. The guy was really strange. He made fun of me calling a retail job "Sales Associate" which makes no sense as thats what we are called! "Do you consider this a sales position?" I hate when they call you down KNOWING you cant do the job but its as if they call to make sure or make fun of you! My second thing was on Wed. It was very hot. I had to walk from the LR at least 4 blocks in the heat. And the interview was so short by time I got out I thought I was gonna die. I had to get free water I almost had heat stroke. And of course neither of those jobs called me back...SIGH
3. Tuesday we had a HUGE dust storm. It made national news. It came around 7pm or a bit earlier. It was 50 miles long and coming in at 60mph. It looked like a monster and for us it looked like rain. We was at the library and about to leave around 7:30 I thought it rain I told Mel then we realized it dust. It kept coming in the library and making it look cloudy in there like smoke. It was very freaky. We had to go out in it the winds were horrible the car shaking. We tried to wait it out as driving it was like driving in fog. But ended up going home anyways. What a night!
4. My internship was done in 3 days last week. It was a lot of fun! Especially on Friday when I got my first ride along (ride with a reporter to an assignment). I love this its my favorite thing to do whenever possible :)
5. We skipped church today cause of my sisters awkward schedule. She had to work till 4:30 then be back by 7:30 for the meeting. So it was too much driving for her so we sadly skipped...
till next week

Weekend 5 (Sunday, July 3rd 2011)
Well Well Well
1. I interned not 3 times but 4 times last week. The most I have ever done since I began to work this job. I really love it. I dont care if I sit there just reading the news all day and answering the phone. I am just as happy as anything but I am willing to answer phones, listen to story ideas, call people for ideas, watch the shows, sit in on the meetings and HOPEFULLY before this is over do one ride along. Last week I had no ride alongs (even with 2 days and 2 chances) but I went to meetings a few and had so much fun I could hardly stand it. You have to watch me to see the SMILE on my face I look so happy to be doing something that it makes me want to cry to think in a month this could be gone...
2. I had an almost interview last week. I really need a few bad interviews to give me practice but I keep applying and after that whole joke of a job few weeks ago I cant get even an interview from anyone. Doesnt help that I dont want an telemarketing, am iffy on Sales jobs and dont have a lot of experience. I did have this thing on Tue where I went down there to find out you need to pay for their insurance license and a classes. Sure to some $285 and then $300 is pocket change but not to someone who sometimes didnt make that much in one MONTH in retail! I also almost had an interview on Thur but the guy wouldnt get back to me so phone tag just isnt fun. Hopefully next week will be better as I have one set up for Tue at another job. SIGH
3. The 28th of June will always be a sad day to me. It doesnt matter that Princess has been gone for a year and a half or Patches has been gone for nearly 7 yrs. I will always miss our first cats Patches & Princess and the joy they gave us the few precious or even a bit longer yrs they were in our lives. If they were alive they would have turned 19. I cant wait to see them again in heaven. I was just sad when they were separated for so many years by death too soon :(
4. July 3rd is always going to be 2 things. For my mom especially (and my cousins & their father) it is a day to recall Sherry who died on the 3rd of July in 1996 from cancer. I also recall that it was the day 7 yrs ago when Barnes & Noble I worked at closed its doors for good. I loved that store. I was hoping to have stayed with the company and that store a couple more years full time as soon as I graduated college. How ironic the year I graduated May 2004 they closed just a few months later. My still longest job on record and my only 2nd real retail job ever. Always in my heart B&N of Main Place Mall
5. Saturday was the hottest day on record 115 in some places higher. So hot that I decided to go with my sister to her mall. Mistake being 4th of July weekend and it so hot and crowded I had no fun. But before I was only too happy to find some cute shoes (a bit too big but still) at Good Will for half off & a belt. I needed both spent only $6 and I had planned for just shoes $11 so I saved $5 much needed savings :)
Till next week...
