Weekend 5 (Sunday, March 17th 2013)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! :)

1. The weather this week is much improved. While last week we had 3 days of rain this week plenty of sunshine. Not a single rainy day. Some partly cloudy but that was it! Most days sunny and 70's or mid 60's. If it starts cloudy it gets sunny. Spring is just 3 more days away this week :D Cant wait tis still my most favorite Season ever :)

2. Workouts this week much improved. I spent Mon & Wed doing 3 run 3 walk but only for 45 mint. But on Friday I went 1 hr. My pedometer was behaving right and I knew that I could do my 5K 3.1mile race in 1 hr which was my *goal*. The Hot Chocolate Run (more below) wants you done in an hour or less...

3. Sleep this week has been a rollercoaster. I have been trying to get to bed earlier. So I have been successful sometimes and sometimes not. So I failed the night before our race. Even though I went to bed between 2 and 3 for two nights Thur & Fri I couldnt sleep more than 30 min last night. Sucks for me but I am okay. I hope to get my sleep under better control this week we shall see! Next race is much earlier so I have to get up at 4am or sooner in a week!

4. Church was good last night. We have to register to say we are coming and what days for Easter. Never done this before. This will be our first Easter at our new church we began last June. The messages are great. I was just a bit confused. Last week they made it sound like its okay to not tithe or not tithe 10% but this week they tried to make us all feel guilty even those of us like me with no job who cant give more than $2 every two weeks from my small unemployment money. I still love my church but I hate that they want to try to force everyone to give. I was trying last year while at hickory for a bit there to do very close to 10% until hours got messed up and I was suffering more by tithing then not so I dropped it to $1 or sometimes $5. Great if you have a job, good hours, pay wonderful to give 10% every week or every other but its not for everyone and wish that churches would understand. I get some people arent giving who can maybe thats what the point was but it felt like he was telling us ALL to do it. And thats just not possible for me or my sister currently.

5. I left todays race for last. I loved todays race. I was sooo tired. It was a long drive took us 1hr to get down there. We got down around 7:20 had to park and walk over. But it was the best. We got a metal, a cute backpack, some good food, nice tshirt. My favorite part was the metal never got one of those before. We got a late start. We should have gone at 8:10 but didnt begin till near 8:30. I came in at just under 58 mint which was good for me. I am amazed because that is nearly what I got on my dairy dash in TN in 2010 and I had trained for weeks and was going farther. Maybe the count was off. My poor sister doesnt know what she got as her name/number wasnt on the sheets. I am hoping they post them online or I will be contacting them to ask about it. It was all done on the streets so it was a bit ackward running/walking next to cars. We went 1.5 one way and turned back around 1.5 the other. A car went through the cones and the cop told him to pull over I think they got a ticket for doing that they could have hit the walkers. Lame. My favorite part was I had just turned around a block before. I was on the other side doing my jog (I cant really run persay I jog) and two ladies who werent skinny like me were walking. They looked over at me (I am assuming me since I was the only one there where they looking) and the one said to other "shes not doing too bad." I didnt know till today I could inspire like that. An example that not skinny out of shape people can do these races too and not walk the whole thing. I am also proud that I began the race at the very last place I was in the back none behind me. But once I began my 3R/3W I passed people. I was number 586 with about 10 after me finishing. Just good day all in all. We both tried the free beer but only a sip. My first and probably last beer I can see why its an aquired taste. Sadly never got our irish tacos :( I guess they ran out with that many ahead of me and my sister who was about 10 mint before me didnt get any either. Got some nice free food not bad. Went to CiCi's after met up with my sisters friend and her fam. Had lunch came home and napped for 3hrs more. Bed early tonight.

One more week till the Hot Chocolate Run!! And this time it will be for chocolate and we will get it no matter what ;)

Till next time...
