Last one of these both for December and gasp THE YEAR 2015!?!? Yes friends in just a few days we will say good bye to this year. It has not been the best on record. It was long harsh, and somewhat sad about half the time. I will be glad to say good bye and hope next year is better than this!
1. My birthday was on the 20th and I turned 36. I realized oddly enough that every year I turn an age the same year to follow is that number. Weird huh? This is true for every year even back when I turned 1 in 1980 because few days later was 1981. Stop laughing I have to find humor about being this age and where I am and not in life. If I had just one of my bigger goals on its way or accomplished maybe it wouldn't hurt so much. But single, zero kids, zero career and in school still with nowhere closer to my future career then the year before. I am hoping I am wrong and next year will be THE year for me. Boyfriend, job, moving out! Imaging the possibilities that could come makes me happy but still worried as planning and hoping isn't the same thing as happening. I don't want to be super hopeful that so much could happen that I will be disappointed if nothing does happen. Moving on. For my birthday my sister and mom surprised me with the one gift I didn't think would happen: going whale watching! Back in August I saw for just $40 a person you could go in Oceanside where we live. But my sister got this *Good* deal off groupon and took me to San Diego instead just me and her. First we began with my free breakfast at Dennys. But due to a bad car accident and the 5 freeway being closed we missed our boat by 5 minutes! I thought this was it. But we still stayed in the area right there for 3 hours we waited on their wait list in hopes we might still get to go on there. Killed time sitting on the other side of the harbor area by a pool listening to kids play. Hoping this was not for nothing. We checked back a bit early and found nothing yet. Was losing hope but went to the car for our coupon incase and the guy working there had been looking for us. We got on the second boat! Sure it was freaking cold, we got late doing dinner with parents later on, and only saw 3 whales but we still had fun. The boat ride was so choppy the waves so big you could fall over if you not careful. But we had so much fun still. Sure the last hour felt like forever and just wanted to be on land. We hadn't seen any whales (the morning boat only saw 2 so there you go). I wanted to see Dolphins too maybe next time. We will have to go again it was so fun. Met with my parents at Red Robin for dinner. Then went home and that was that.
2. Work this week due to me getting my birthday off I only worked on Monday and Saturday. Both small 4 hour shifts. Next week I work more than less the following. How it goes. I got off late on Monday was just glad I still made my sprinter and got back to the area in time. Was a bit nervous there. New job in the new year yes please!
3. This month marks 20 years since my horrible snow fall in the mountains. I was 15 going on 16 and bounced down a steep very steep snow hill while riding a saucer. My sister made it look fun she had used the sled and smiled at me "its fun Holly come on!" Sure I thought it was fun for 2 seconds. That was how long it took to knock myself out. I bounced on my head several times, my boots flew off, my dang stupid saucer flew towards a frozen river but didn't go over, my ear muffs came off, my hair a mess and my gloves came off but stayed attached due to the Velcro. When I woke up at the bottom I sat up I heard people around me gasp. They probably thought I was dead or paralyzed. I can only imagine the guardian angel(s) I have putting their hand on each time I bounced so I did not die or get really badly hurt. I did fracture my ribs it hurt something horrible. We bought a wrap for me and I wore it for a few weeks after till they okay. But it could have been SO much worse. Sure it scared me off the rest of the trip from even small snow hills. I joked mom should have videoed it but they had seen it happen and been in such shock they thought I died too they couldn't pull it out fast enough.
4. Christmas came and went. Managed to do our church for Christmas Eve. That was nice. Going to church was nice too. We need to put fourth a better effort to go in 2016 a goal I will not write down but we agree on. Christmas did not feel like it was Christmas. We didn't get our tree till few days before. It just felt odd. I cant explain it. Plus we still miss our grandma it has not been the same since we lost her almost 10 years ago. 10 years ago was our last Christmas with her. I miss her still so much! Top off with no Maggie and my cousins cat is going to die in the next month or so. So she did not come over because I think she is broke (no shock) and just married and all that. So we didn't see her at all. Felt so weird.
5. Rainbow got her 6 month check up on Tuesday. So far no test results came back bad so that is good. They checked her blood and her poop. Ew. Still has heart murmur and now her two front knees pop out which is bad she could break her legs easier I am guessing on that one because she jumps down sometimes fast from places like the bed and the couch. Her lungs are clear and her temperature a little high but not bad high. Her weight just under 12 pounds is good I was worried she losing weight. I was just glad I didn't have to pay for anything I am beyond out of extra money so I would have to use my emergency credit card if she needs it. I love her so much!! Life is short I hug her every day you just never know.
Well our weather has been on the rampage. While the middle and east coast got warmer temps we got frozen cold weather. Colder here then there. And bad storms too. We have rain nearly once a week. Just a sign of things to come when it gets worse in January with El Nino already beginning her big show! We need the rain no complaints but prefer it when I am home and not out in it. The Weekend 5 (Sunday, December 20th 2015)
The year is coming to an end. We are nearly in Winter. And nearly the end of this year. Just 1 more of these for 2015. Crazy stuff! Life is crazy like that. But learning to roll with the punches the waves is some good advice I made up but have heard before. I never understood that so much till I was on a boat with lots of wave action...
1. School is done pretty much. I finished up my last homework on Thursday. As worried as I was about my grades I am now coming in at a A, 2 B's and 1 C! That is after my withdraw for English and thinking I was failing my cinema. I am proud I survived and grateful I did not fail this was my first semester I thought I was going to fail at least one of my classes. Was not easy but I got out okay. I only have 1 more for sure semester unsure if Spring will be my last but if it its I am going out with a bang.
2. Work this past week has been odd ball like. No closings. I worked on Sunday, Monday and again on Saturday. None were closing. I had two later mid's and an opening. Next week I have less hours due to my birthday off. And then odd thing is I never gave them new hours for out of school but they assumed so now I am working more than I normally do the last week of December into beginning of 2016.
3. Wednesday went and saw my cousin get married. Done up in a courthouse her first marriage and she is 3 years older than me. It felt odd. Cant share details she has said she wants nothing online yet so I cant share anything. I must say if you have to get married fast and cant afford a real one the courthouse isn't a bad place to do it. It felt like a wedding just an odd one. Back in Santa Ana was weird as well. I used to work here. I worked at Barnes & Noble for nearly 4 years just down the street from the courthouse and I had never been there till I went that day. Downtown Santa Ana isn't all fun and games its crazy like a mix of all the old towns in the area and a piece like a town form the south. You can tell downtown from different parts of towns no matter where you go.
4. Thursday me and my sister did our Boomers time by ourselves again. Only did 1 round of golf on 1 side and then the video games upstairs. Only had 1 hour to do it. So we did our best and had some fun. After we got free o's kitchen dessert for our birthdays and some snacks. On Wednesday I managed 3 free items: Which Wich, Panera Bread and Del Taco. I have a few left but have used most of my birthday freebies now. Its nice that food places do this its really great!
5. Saw Mocking Jay part 2 and was very impressed by it. Sure it was none stop action and more violence then others. Plus killing off several people including the beautiful Sam Claflin aka Finnick and of course Primarose. I knew both of them were going to die but still. Spoiler alert sorry that shouldn't be a spoil the movie is a month old but hey. We went same night at Star Wars so everyone was out there standing in line outside and inside and we walked right in for our movie. Haha funny timing not on purpose but still.
Weather has been crazy this week. Twice it rained different days. This is a sign of rain to come. I shall see how it turns out and if they are right about the rains being bad next year. For now we need all the rain we can get. But snow in the mountain is all good indeed. Have a great week everyone. And Merry Christmas. See you for the last one of these before the new year!

The Weekend 5 (Sunday, December 13, 2015)
It is raining now. And as mother nature throws us a loop not planned (rain? really?) I look down the last week of being 35! I want to reflect on this and say this much: the last year has been the most not fun in forever. I end without a boyfriend, husband, kids, or career and that is not fun. I will deal better once we reach other side of this but till then may the odds ever be in my favor and we are in the final count down!
1. Weather this week yeah about that. We have had days of sun, days of cold, like really cold. We had ice on the car Saturday morning! And rain we had that too. Thursday my last day of school it was really just pouring down. I had to walk to the Sprinter and it was coming down in puddles some spots had like 3" of rain puddles. Glad I had my jacket, boots and umbrella but still. If this is a clue of things to come for next year El Nino we are in for a bumpy ride kids
2. School this week has been hectic to the max! I had 2 finals on Thursday I am unsure how I did on either. And I had 1 on Friday. I did not know till Monday I was having a final on Friday I thought it was going to be online the teacher said this. I was getting a D in that class I am now getting a C and unsure how I will do if I failed like I think I did on the final. But we are close kids very close. I have still for that class 1 paper, 2 discussion boards. For my ID class I have homework and the last test. So hopefully I can keep my grades at A for TV, B for ID class, C for Sociology and C for Cinema I can dream. But an F I will FLIP out over that no pun there. For fun we did a WRAP PARTY for wrap of Palomar Live at Boomers. Sadly only 6 others showed up out of our class of almost 20. I was sad to not been able to say good bye to so many. Maybe if we had just done it at school instead (or both) we could have had more come. I'm sad to only say good bye to some and I will see my teacher for sure. It was fun playing golf with 8 people (me included) that's the most I have EVER done. I have done it with 4 total and 2 (me included in both of those) but 8? Wow fun but still bummer little came!
3. Work this week not like last week. I worked Sunday (my sisters birthday more below) which I did not want to. But blacked out unlike last year I cannot get anything off. Which is lame. And that is all I will say. I worked Monday and then again on Saturday. While it sucked opening at 9am it was nice a change to not be closing on a Saturday! Mid or opening I will take anytime and any day over a closing. There you go.
4. My sister celebrated her 33rd birthday on Sunday the 6th. Because I worked (see above) we only could do dinner late at The Old Spaghetti Factory in San Marcos. It was a fun time. Of course my youngest sister Misty was freaking out for reasons we don't get the place had no fans but she is getting odder and odder as she gets older with things like this. She freaked out for my dads birthday too in September. So back to this. We sat in the trolley booth and it was so fun! Never been they are so good on food. Had a lovely time. How is my younger sister this age? How are any of this age? Where is time going? As you get older time flies whether you are married or not. I cant image how it is with kids of your own
5. Saturday we went and saw The Parade of Lights in the Oceanside Harbor and it was FUN but freezing. My parents usually go but this was the first time we went ourselves. Boats with lights and Christmas stuff. Met my moms friend Susan and her two pit bulls who are dressed up like reindeer so cute awe. Cold short time but fun for real.
Sadly we don't have a Christmas tree this year and I am unsure if we will :( Makes it feel less like Christmas then usually does. Top off with less money, a stressful year has been playing out and still here 4 years later just makes me want to say good bye to 2015 faster then ever! Goals for new year thinking ahead include: internship, school, new job (PLEASE!!!??) and a boyfriend. Hey I am dreaming big this time! 36 I am not getting younger. Go me! ;) See you all on the other side of 36. Good bye 35 just 6 days to go...

The Weekend 5 (Sunday, December 6th 2015)
Welcome to December! First of all Happy Birthday to my younger sister Melody! Big shout out! Sorry I cant spend the day with you as my job (grumble) would not give me it off even if I asked. Will spend time later with you promise.
1. Work this past week was more busy than I thought. I was only working 3 days it went to 4. I worked Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I also gained some hours working 3 hours more on Saturday. So hope that helps me with my money but this is still not enough I still need a new job asap. For real yo. By the new year would be great. Or a second job whatever works! But work is work not super busy but still.
2. School this week I am so sad it is over! We are at the end of our semester. This has been a long semester But had its fun. We did our last show of Palomar Live show 10 where I was assistant director. It was fun actually! I had fun doing that. Online classes are still going okay. How this will end your guess is as good as mine. I am trying hard to NOT fail my classes one mostly but still finals this week and next week, stuff due. Will be glad when we are done with this next week for sure. Relief!
3. Yesterday marked 14 years since my dog Cocoa died at the age of 13.5. She was old and a big dog but still it was sad when the dog I had since I was 8 left me. We buried her in the backyard. I used to talk to her she was a good friend. And I miss her sometimes. Years pass and you start to forget what they look like and how they were but I will never fully forget my first real pet!
4. I am still sick with this cold I got 6 weeks ago. I think it is a sinus infection NOT fun btw either way. I hope I am wrong and I cant even get to a doctor till next week so I hope it can hang on if its one till then and not bring too much pain. It is driving me crazy. I hate being sick like this. I cant even get a cold without it turning into worse. I blame age sigh.
5. SeaWorld we did that on Friday our last time (I think) this year. I love that place! 3 times and finally saw 2 shows. All Christmas like. Dolphins I love them still was so great. Shamu show was fun but the dolphin one was better if you ask me. Idk why I said that but I really liked it more. Helps them being my favorite animal as a kid and still love them tops. We got to see the sharks which was great, revisit some other parts. We did a lot in 3 hours which was shocking. Good time. Nice use of our passes.
